What motivates you in Winter?

What would keep you coming to classes in Winter? What puts you off?

I want to know! Please comment at the end of my blog. I would love to know your thoughts. I want people to think how they can overcome barriers and share ideas.

Where have I been? – maybe the other question that is useful.

I have been a bit AWOL from the internet in general, only keeping up to date with the bare minimum in terms of social marketing/networking using facebook. My sporadic previous life as a PT/Group Ex Instructor meant I had odd hours and no real structure to my week. I am now a full time Administrator for 20 (yes, that is 20!) clinicians for a Mental Health Team and safe to say, I am now far more occupied and feel less need to spend time on things like facebook etc. I still check them, don’t get me wrong. But I firmly believe you can have too much of one thing and my internet time was being counterproductive. Which leads me to the first question on here. What motivates you in Winter? As the nights draw in, I can already start to see numbers decreasing for classes, some is perfectly fine, more events, xmas dos but if you’re in a rut, or feel yourself getting that way, have a think about what is a fresh way you can look at it to give you new motivation for what you do.

Illness

As nights draw in, so the cold/flu season begins. I have had bronchitis for best of two weeks after starting my new job and believe me, it is amazing how quickly fitness goes if you haven’t done anything for a bit. However – good news is, if you were exercising before, you can get it back a lot quicker! Muscles have memory.

Classes

I do still teach classes and PT, but only evenings/weekends now. This was to benefit me and my clients/participants. Teaching 2-3 hours a day was taking it’s toll to make ends meet, now I have more freedom to choose classes I really want to do and give the energy I need to them. Quality not quantity.

Monday – Bums and Tums, 6pm and Bodycombat 7pm both Mildenhall Dome Leisure Centre. Advise to book in advance.

Tuesday –  10 weeks beginners Pilates course running until 14th Dec at Witchford Village College, Ely

Thursday – Bodycombat, 6.45pm Greens Cambridge, members only.

I do a lot more cover now, so hope to see a bigger variety of people on my travels without the commitment of too many regular slots.

I hope all my readers are fighting fit and energized and if you want any advice on health, fitness and even stress management at work :) then please let me know. Find me on fb, twitter and email: rebeccakidman@gmail.com

I hope to make an update more timely next time!
